Frank Lampard years – West Ham Years

Lampard first joined West ham United in July 1994, as a key member of their youth academy; it was on 1st July 1995 where he signed his professional contract. He was immediately loaned out to Swansea City between October 1995- January 1996 and made his debut for West ham United on 31st January 1996 against Coventry City. He played a bit part role for the Hammers during the 95-96 season. During the 1996-97 premiership season, Lampard was a valued member of West Ham United's squad, coming on as a substitute on many occasions, however just as he was adapting to life in the premiership, he broke his right leg in March 1997, and this prevented him from taking part for the rest of the season.
Frank lampard came back magnificently 1997-98 season, gaining a place in West Ham's starting line up, he notched up his first premiership goal for West ham in an away tie against Barnsley. The 98-99 season saw Lampard emerge as West ham's most valuable player, he played in all 38 of West Ham's matches, scoring five goals and was now certainly regarded as one of the Premierships best young talents.
Lampard was an integral part of a young talented first team of west Ham, which included, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Michael Carrick. He was outstanding for west ham during the 99- 2000 season, scoring a further 7 goals and controlled the midfield in spectacular fashion. His final season at West Ham was the 2000 – 2001, another brilliant season, scoring another seven goals, he was now regarded as one of the premierships' hottest properties.
In total Lampard made 187 appearances and scored 39 goals in all tournaments for West Ham, in his six successful years at the club.
He moved to Chelsea at the end of the 2000- 2001 season for £11 million, which was one of Claudio Ranieri's first signing's at the club.
